Drawing from your public accounting expertise, you will spearhead our day-to-day accounting functions and provide consolidated financial reporting that accurately communicates key drivers, trends and operational metrics. You will also be called upon to assist with strategic analysis to help us refine our market models and drive financial best practices.

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will understand the inherent challenges of revenue recognition and revenue share payouts within the specialized field of media and technology sectors. You will also utilize your interpersonal savvy to build relations with a geographically dispersed team (in Europe, Japan and Israel) and efficiently manage multiple initiatives to support our aggressive growth objectives.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications listed above, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance from a top school; CPA certification.
• Minimum 4-7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience including AR, AP, GL reconciliations, internal control, audits and payroll/budgeting.
• Leadership savvy to build and lead a team to achieve financial excellence.
• Solid exposure to inter-company financials; you will report consolidated results for all our subsidiaries in Europe & Asia to our North American headquarters in San Francisco.
• Impeccable communication skills, both oral and written to distill complex financials into succinct reports and present to management.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred, but not required:

• International accounting exposure along with some knowledge of foreign tax issues.
• Familiarity with accounting system migrations, process development and strategic planning.
• Experience with ad reporting systems.

More about Your Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will join us at our San Francisco office. During the first 3-6 months, you will focus on accomplishing the following objectives:

• Optimize reporting systems to streamline the management of funds from our media customers to our publisher partners.
• Define efficient processes for monthly financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and
• Develop dashboard specifications for key performance metrics.
• Prepare for external audit.
• Manage all day to day accounting functions and assist with 2009 budget development.
• Help evaluate off-the-shelf and custom solutions to enhance our financial, accounting, and reporting systems.

In a nutshell you'll be responsible for general ledger management, financial statement preparation, budget to actual analysis, reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of various vendor relationships (including banking and insurance), payroll, establishment and enforcement of internal controls, analysis, and other financial functions. The bookkeepers in Israel & Japan will aide in local financial statement production, and handle AP and AR, but this definitely is a hands-on role.

In addition to your day-to-day activities, you will contribute to strategic decision making and help us build a larger organization as you create the tools to take us from where we are today to the future.
